Walk 3 – Pokljuška Soteska, from a Walking Guide of Slovenia.

Discover a dramatic ravine only a few miles away from Bled.  A short walk that is full of surprises.  The Bled Tourist Office website has some extra information.

Start/Finish – at the gorge car park or Krnica

Distance – 3km/1.9miles

Height gain - approx 150m

Time – 1h15min

Grade – Moderate.  This is a very short walk, but one that requires a head for heights and confidence on slippery ground and rough paths.

Recommended map(s) - are either the 1:50 000 Triglavski Narodni Park or the Julijske Alpe vzhodni del (eastern) map published by PZS, plus there is also a 1:30 000 Bled map published by GZS

Updates to the 2005, 2nd Edition – This walk was closed for a considerable while due to winter storm damage.  However, it is now open again but we are not sure if it is still possible to follow our route description.  Added by the authors in 12/09.

Public transport – Krnica has the nearest bus stop, about 1.5km from the ravine entrance.
