On Velika Slivnica

This fine walk to the summit of Velika Slivnica is rewarded with superb views over the intermittent or ‘disappearing’ lake of Cerknica, Cerkniško jezero.

Height gain - approx 540m

Time – 2h23min

Grade – easy-moderate; on good paths and tracks.

Public transport – There is a bus service from Postojna to Cerknica.  The nearest train station is at Rakek.

The nearest campsite is the Pivka Jama Camp located about 4km north-west of the town. Postojna has an excellent range of shops, and places to eat. Cerknica, where the walk starts has rooms available and one hotel, the Hotel Rakov Škocjan about 5km away from the town (ideally situated for our Walk 31).
