A walk to Kupljenik – rural Slovenia in a nutshell. Delightful villages, quite country lanes, hayracks, old churches and shrines. Escape the hubbub of Bled for a few hours!

Grade – An easy walk on good paths, tracks and road. One steep climb of 220m to Kupljenik.
Recommended map(s) – are either the 1:50 000 Triglavski Narodni Park vzhodni del (eastern) or the Julijske Alpe map published by PZS, plus there is also a 1:30 000 Bled map published by GZS

Public transport – Bled is easily reached by bus or train, although the railway station situated above the north-western shore of the lake is inconveniently placed for the resort centre and hotels.
